Rustic Ceiling Fans: Ceiling Fans With Rustic Designs are HOT!

For a long time, the decorating community looked down on rustic ceiling fans as uncultured, low-life and even 'red neck' (as we say in the south). :-)

Now, however, rustic ceiling fans are "in" and are seen in all the decorating magazines. Some of Hollywood's top start flaunt their rustic rooms and ceiling fans from People magazine.

But what is 'rustic' anyway? It refers to products that are made from less polished, usually raw materials - like deer antlers, wood or metal that isn't highly polished or decorated.

Some of them, however, can be quite intricate in their decoration.

Most of the leading fan manufacturing companies manufacture rustic ceiling fans, like Hunter, Westinghouse, Key West and more. Often they are manufactured with very high quality materials so as to stand up to the rigors imposed upon them.

Rustic ceiling fans often are made with a heavy duty induction motor but most home owners want them because their blades are so attractive. Since most of them are reminiscent of nature, the blades are usually shaped in designs of nature, such as sea shells, natural wood or even clouds. Some are even painted with animal pictures and other natural themes.

To really get the air moving, their blade span is most often 52”.

Many rustic ceiling fans are easily customized because the owner can buy individual pieces and assemble an almost custom fan. With blades shaped like flowers or leaves, it's often easy to create a distinctive design. The fan accessories include extension rods, slope adaptor and light kits and depending on the model you buy, come separately or with the ceiling fan as part of a kit.

Rustic ceiling fans are wildly popular and show no signs of becoming passe. Therefore any buyer can be comfortable that her fan won't be out of date or quaint any time soon.
