Baby Bedrooms: Decorating A Bedroom For The New Baby
How shall we decorate baby bedrooms? This question usually pops out of nowhere sometime during pregnancy when we have no time, money and energy to start a full-scale renovation and preparation of baby bedrooms. As the result, we usually neglect it and put it away for the moment when we’re going to have more time. Unfortunately, that can sometimes mean that we start decorating baby bedrooms when our children are about to become teenagers!

Regardless, try not to put this off until the final months of pregnancy. This is especially true if the mom-to-be is going to do the work because breathing in paint fumes isn't good for either mom or baby.

Here are a few tips on how to decorate a bedroom for a baby with minimal effort.
Painting baby's bedroom: It is easy to say: “blue/pink paint is the best – all baby bedrooms should be blue/pink”, depending on the baby's sex, of course. It is much harder to accomplish that when you don’t have time for painting. Fortunately, you will have to furnish baby bedrooms anyway, so you can just buy furniture in an appropriate color instead of wall painting. A white wall, for instance, certainly looks fine and adds a lot of light to the room.
Bedroom themes:
There are a lot of possible themes for baby bedrooms – castles, princes, stars, cowboys, space, military etc. – but let’s face it, for the first two years, only colors will matter. You can wait with choosing some theme for the baby bedroom until your kids have grown up a little and can express their preferences and share in the decisions.
Decoration:
Choosing and installing various pieces of decoration in baby bedrooms is probably the nicest part of the whole decorating process. Often mothers-to-be will receive lots of interesting artifacts and goodies for the room.
As usual, there are a lot of different ideas and theories on how baby bedrooms should be decorated. Whatever you do, just remember that a bedroom shall not be empty – even if you think it’s too crowded, for a baby needs a room that is spacious and full of interesting things to see.
